REGISTRATION OF IFA
IFA has been incorporated in New Jersey. Enyi and Tokunbo Okereke were gracious enough to let us use their home address for the incorporation. May Banigo thanked the group for letting her represent us on the project. The next step is to apply for the tax information that will enable us function as a non profit organization, she is in the process of filing the 501c3. We need to form a committee to assist May complete the filing of the 501c3. The people she would need in the committee are the Financial Secretary, Treasurer, President and a Lawyer. The bill needs to be paid. The current bill is $476, but we will be receiving an additional bill.
HEALTH COMMITTEE
There is a tentative date of August 2007 set for a Medical Mission in Bonny. May Banigo will go to the General Hospital and ask what their needs are and look for a site for the Medical mission.
REVIEW CLASSES
The classes were for three schools, Bonny National Grammer School, Govt. Girls Secondary School, Finima and Community Secondary School, Bonny. The program is currently done for six subjects, Math, English, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Literature. The teacher for each subject is paid N2500 per month. We paid N60,000 each for Bonny National and Community Secondary School, and GGSS, Finima got N45,000 because they held classes for just 3 months, while the others held classes for 4 months. The total for all three schools last year was N165,000. The Principal of one of the schools wants to be compensated for his efforts in helping with getting the project run efficiently, however, we didn’t think we would address that at this point. There was a vote to continue the project with all people in attendance voting yes to continue it. A letter of thanks will be sent to Adango Longjohn to show our appreciation to him for being a liason and doing this on his own.
